GPs & Health Professionals

We accept referrals from GPs, paediatricians, psychiatrists, and allied health professionals for a range of psychological assessments. Our reports are written to be clear, clinically actionable, and useful for ongoing management.

  • ADHD — children (6+) and adults, using DSM-5-TR criteria and multi-informant assessment
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder — children and adults, including ADOS-2 where indicated
  • Combined ADHD & Autism — where both presentations are suspected
  • Cognitive and learning assessments — to support school adjustments or NDIS access
  • Capacity assessments — decision-making capacity for medical, legal, or financial matters
  • Complex psychological assessments — where diagnostic clarity is needed to guide treatment

The more context you provide, the better we can prepare. Helpful referral information includes:

  • Patient name, date of birth, and contact details
  • The specific assessment or clinical question you are seeking
  • Relevant medical, developmental, and psychiatric history
  • Any prior diagnoses or assessments (attaching copies is very helpful)
  • School reports where relevant (especially for children)
  • Current medications
  • Any urgency factors — NDIS review deadlines, school enrolment, court dates
  • Your preferred report format or any specific questions to be addressed

Psychological assessment is not directly rebatable under Medicare as a standalone service. However:

  • A GP Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) enables Medicare rebates for follow-up psychological treatment sessions recommended following assessment
  • NDIS funding can cover assessment under the Improved Daily Living budget — please note this on your referral if relevant
  • Private health insurance may offer partial rebates depending on the patient's extras cover

We are transparent about fees at enquiry stage and provide a written quote before any assessment commences.

Schools & Education Professionals

We work with schools, student support services, and educational consultants to provide assessments that translate directly into practical classroom and learning support.

  • ADHD assessments — providing diagnostic clarity and specific classroom recommendations
  • Autism assessments — supporting Student Support Group applications and Individual Education Plans
  • Cognitive and learning profiles — identifying strengths and areas requiring support
  • Reports written for educational audiences — clear, jargon-minimised, and directly actionable
  • School consultation — we are happy to discuss findings with relevant staff where the family consents

School referrals are made via the family — we ask that schools encourage families to contact us directly. When families make the initial enquiry, the following school information is helpful:

  • Teacher observation notes or a written summary of concerns
  • School reports from current and prior years
  • Any prior assessments or plans (SSSP, IEP, or prior psychological reports)
  • Specific questions or goals the school hopes the assessment will address

We include teacher rating scales as standard in our child assessments, so teachers will be contacted directly as part of the process (with parental consent).
